I’m looking for

• People who have a business and need my skills. If you have a problem where a computer is part of the solution, I can help with that!
• People who have skills I don’t, so we can build a business together. Ideas are plentiful, and I’m into some casual co-founding with the right partner.

My experience

I’m an electrical engineer turned programmer. I’ve worked for big and small firms and written C, TypeScript and much in between. In the last 10 years I have been building a small SaaS company. For a more formal CV, click here. If you have even more questions, email me!

What I bring to the table

What it means to be a programmer has evolved a lot over the decades. I like to think that I take the best parts from the old-school and the modern approach.

• Code always has a purpose. I’m very good at understanding what a business needs and turning that into a feature. Sometimes it means talking to the users and understanding their workflow, and sometimes coming up with a fresh idea nobody had thought of.
• I don’t call myself an AI engineer because I care more about the result than the tool. LLMs are a game changer though. I know when and how to use them to get a 10-hour task done in 1 hour. I also know when to avoid them so we don’t write a buggy, bloated version of a popular library.
• I’ve worked independently with a business-minded attitude for a decade now and I’ve been in software for two. I’m reliable and able to set direction myself while communicating efficiently with others.

Non-computer skills

I like to do many things, some entirely unrelated to software. For completeness, I include them here. I’ve worked professionally as

• a musician and tour manager (things go wrong at 2 a.m. and the show still happens)
• a community organizer (getting people with different goals to agree)
• a certified electrician (I like to work with tangible things as well)
